Wealthy slacker college student Mark, his new girlfriend Sarah, and their friends are invited to a special showing at a mysterious wax museum which displays 18 of the most evil men of all time. After his ex-girlfriend and another friend disapear, Mark becomes suspicous. What he doesn't know is that they have been made a part of the exhibit, by first living out the scene and then being murdered in.

Note : Here's a light-footed and kind of original little 80s horror comedy, more horror than comedy, with a pretty original concept, a good cast, and some fun effects and setpieces. Being the uncut version, this also has some very occasional gnarly gore. It's no classic, but well worth watching if you like 80s horror, and it has a pretty good cast, including Zach Galligan, Deborah Foreman, Michelle Johnson, Dana Ashbrook, David Warner, and good old John Rhys-Davies in a small role.
Many things were credible in the 80s, and apparently an evil wax museum in a typical American suburb was one of them. It's run by a strange man, who invites some teenagers to visit, and when they do, they one by one are transported into stock horror scenarios represented by the exhibits, which ends up killing some of them. The survivors convince the police to investigate, but after finding a wax figure that seems to contain dead flesh, the cop ends up meeting a similar fate. The surviving teens must investigate the strange goings on, which involve devil worship and voodoo, to prevent the end of the world.
This is a quite nice remaster, with good color and contrast, decent detail, a bit grainy, but not horrible, it could definitely be cleaner, though, with intermittent dust throughout, but it's quite watchable. 5.1 remaster is fine too, though you might prefer the original stereo for the authentic 80s ambiance, and both the commentary tracks are interesting enough.
