Codec: h265 (HDR 10-bit)
HDR format : Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU, Blu-ray compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible
Resolution: 3840x2160
Aspect ratio: 16:9
Frame rate: 23.976 fps
Bit rate: 85.0 Mb/s
Audio
#1: English 5.1ch DTS XLL @ 4 303 kb/s (5.1 Surround Upmix)
#2: English 4.1ch AC-3 @ 448 kb/s (Original 6-Track Mix (70mm))
#3: English 2.0ch AC-3 @ 192 kb/s (Original Dolby SR Mix (35mm))
Release notes:
Source #1: Shout Factory UHD Blu-ray - video, English subtitles (thanks KAKAROT!)
Source #2: USA Blu-ray - 5.1 audio, named chapters, extra subtitles
Source #3: NTSC DVD - 4.1 and 2.0 audio
Source #4: EUR Blu-ray - extra subtitles
Source #5: iTunes WEB-DL - extra subtitles
Source #6: Netflix WEB-DL - extra subtitles
Video demuxed with MakeMKV, rest with eac3to. All subtitles tonemapped to match the UHD. Chapters synced to I-frames.
Added English subtitles from Netflix (SRT), as well as UHD and EUR discs due to different fonts (by preference). The version on the USA disc had inferior formatting and was excluded. Added German subs from both discs as they feature different translations, as well as a non-SDH version from iTunes (matching Concorde's translation).
We opted to include the following tracks:
- BD 5.1 - upmix, excellent sounding track
- DVD 4.1 - the most faithful representation of the 70mm 6-track (4.2) mix
- DVD 2.0 - the matrixed Dolby Stereo SR mix used for 35mm prints
The BD 5.1 is very close to the original 70mm mix, with the only diference being in back surrounds being split from one center channel into two side channels. It boasts the highest dynamic range out of all compared sources. In comparison, the 5.1 track on the UHD is a poor upmix job with glaring channel bleeds.
The 4.1 mix present on DVD has superior dynamics compared to the 4.0 track on BD - the only other difference between them is that DVD has low frequencies split into a LFE channel.
The 2.0 track on UHD appears to be a downmix.
Big thanks to xwmario for comparing and synchronizing the audio tracks.
