House
Roger Cobb is a author who has just separated from his wife. He moves into a new house and tries to work on a novel based on his experiences in the Vietnam War. Strange things start happening around him; little things at first, but as they become more frequent, Cobb becomes aware that the house resents his presence.
House (1986), directed by Steve Miner, remastered, encoded in 10 bit HEVC with AAC sound, including 5.1 remaster, commentary track, and English SDH subtitles.
IMDb : https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091223/
Video encoded in two-pass 9 200 kbps x265 10bit with the veryslow preset for archive quality image.
English SDH subtitles OCRed, proofed and corrected.
Note : A classic 80s horror comedy here, it's kind of light on the horror (although I will admit to falling for a jumpscare or two while checking the encode), and it's never laugh out loud funny, but it's pretty entertaining, with some good practical effects and creatures, a likeable lead in William Katt, and also Norm from Cheers (George Wendt) for some reason. It was produced by Sean S. Cunningham, something the marketing leaned heavily on, but it really doesn't have much in common with his work otherwise.
This remaster looks ok, although it's a bit grainy, fuzzy, and under-saturated for my taste. Still, does the job. The commentary track is also good, although a bit more sparse than you'd expect from having 4 people on it.
