Homegrown Sounds Pulse Control VSTi v1.1 (Retail)

Pulse Control is a VSTi designed to become master controller for the Waldorf Pulse / Pulse Plus from
within a sequencing host. With this VSTi there is now no need to touch the unit, all controls are
managed by the plugin itself as opposed to using the Pulses internal patch storage. The Pulse is a
great synth with an analog filter and VCA sections, but is hampered by only having 40 user
writeable presets. By using the HG Pulse Control, the Pulse effectively becomes the same as any
other VSTi.
On top of this, the VSTi also adds a second advanced Arpeggiator, programmable sequencer,
Modulation Sequencer, a Gate Sequencer, 2 x 32 stage envelopes ( with repeat ), an LFO and
random voltage which can be used via a second dedicated Modulation Matrix. These features
transform the Pulse into a much more powerful and versatile instrument.
Finally in line with other HGS synths, there are randomization and default buttons for every section
as well as an adjustable Global Random / Default.

Feature Summary:
• Complete Control over all of the Pulse Parameters - via the Main Screen.
• Uses the same Control Change Messages as the hardware Pulse which means that existing
hardware controller setups will work to control the plugin flawlessly.
• Full VST Automation.
• Advanced Arpeggiator / 32 Note Sequencer.
• The Arpeggiator has the ability to mute steps via the muter section for creating
interesting variations on the usual ARP styles.
• If Sequencer mode is selected, the 32 bars control the notes used by the sequencer.
• Hold Mode, Octaves, Note Repeat, Fixed / Actual Velocity, Retrigger and Latch.
• ARP Keyboard Range: The ARP can be limited to a section of the keyboard like a zone.
• 3 x Modulation Sequencers – This plays back a sequence of up to 32 values which can
then be assigned to any parameter via the Modulation Matrix.
• Direct 2 Octave Pitch Control to all 3 Oscillators, all Oscillators can be controlled
independently.
• Smooth – This will Smooth out the values and includes a intense smooth mode which behaves more like an envelope follower.

• Can also be used to control pitch to build interesting sequences.
• 8 Direction Modes.
• 3 x Gate Sequencer – This is used to trigger Envelopes which can be assigned to any
parameter via the Matrix. The ENV Release time is configurable.
• Inverse Gate Sequencer with selectable Mode, which will trigger either all OFF Notes,
or just the first OFF after an ON has occurred. This can be used for interesting
rhythmic patterns.
• Direct Re-triggering of Envelopes 3 & 4.
• 2 x 32 Stage Envelopes – Assigned via the Mod Matrix, they can have complex shapes,
and have the ability to repeat a section endlessly.
• Advanced LFO – The same LFO used in the Astralis Synths, capable of all the usual shapes
plus custom mode which uses 2 sliders to choose from 3500 possible combinations, which
also has a smooth control. There is also slider mode for creating your own 8 point shape with
smooth control.
• Global Randomizer – This allows choosing which sections that the Globalo Randomize
button will effect when it is pressed.

The most important change is the addition of 2 more Modulation Sequencers, and now they can have direct control over each Oscillators frequency. This change alone makes it possible to create sophisticated one finger style polyphonic sequences by being able to control each oscillator independently. As well as this comes 2 more Gate Sequencers with direct triggers for Envelopes 3 and 4, and also adds the ability to trigger the volume of each oscillator independently. The sequencers can also be assigned via the modulation matrix along with all other Sources.

What's New:

Two new Modulation Sequencers - bringing the total to 3, each of them now have direct 2 octave sends to Oscillator Pitch so that each oscillator can have its own dedicated pitch sequencer. There is also a direct send to the filter.

Two new Gate Sequencers – bringing the total to 3, each of them now has direct retriggering for Envelopes 3 and 4.

Octave Up/Down Buttons added to the Semitune Knob for easily traversing octaves.

Midi Message Time Control added. For problematic midi ports, in the case of dropped messages the speed of the midi queue can be slowed down.

Send All is now triggered on a program change ensuring all parameters are updated.

Global Retrigger now affects the Mod and Gate Sequencers allowing polyphonic Retriggering of the sequences.

Bug Fix: The sequencers could be a note behind.

Swing control added for the master clock. Note that you must use 32 clock rate in the sequencers for it to be heard - slow down the tempo using the master clock rate.

Bug Fix: Pan added to Modulation Matrix 2.

Bug Fix: The Global Randomizer menu was not working as it should.

Expanded to 128 presets.

System Requirements: N/A

Installation:

• Delete any previous installation.
• Next open the PulseControl.rar file by double clicking it. If you can't open it you need to get an archiver which supports rar files such as Winrar.
• Click on extract and then browse to your VST Plugins folder, and click OK.
• That's it, load up your Sequencer / Host and Ammonite should be visible.

• IMPORTANT: The plugin relies on the VST Host to route midi from the plugin to your midi ports and so you may need to consult your hosts manual to achieve this. Also it isessential that you select the Midi Channel in the Global Section at the top of the plugin to match the midi channel that your pulse is set to.

If you have problems:
• If you are using Vista, there are security restrictions which prevent files from creating files within the 'Program Files' folder, so I suggest that you make your VST Plugin folder outside of program files as Ammonite needs to create files on first load for it to function correctly.
• Make sure that you have midi output from the Pulse Control mapped to the Midi out that the Pulse is connected to, you may have to consult your host documentation to achieve this if you haven't done it before.
• If you know that the midi is configure correctly and it still doesn't work, be sure that Pulse control and the Pulse itself are both set to the same midi channel.
• A good solid midi driver / port is required for reliable midi operation, it is possible that not so good ports can drop data.
• Also bear in mind that Midi can only handle so much data before it is dropped / ignored, if you have too much midi messages being sent simultaneously some may get lost, and so it is worth bearing in mind if you are using lots of midi devices on the same midi port.
• If you have graphics missing, chances are you didn't extract the entire rar file, and so the graphics sub folder is missing. Re-extract to solve.
